Celtiberia for Seniors
Tierraquemada Celtiberian Cultural Association
Founded around the archaeological site of Numancia in Garray, the Tierraquemada Celtiberian Cultural Association has been organising cultural and educational activities since 1999 through the recreation and staging of episodes from the Celtiberian Wars. What began as a one-off performance has grown into one of the most important cultural events of the Soria summer season.
Its work goes far beyond entertainment. Through immersive and engaging historical re-enactments, the association brings key aspects of Celtiberian daily life to life, from customs and traditions to weaponry and warfare. The result is a unique experience for visitors who want to understand history from within, not simply observe it from the sidelines.
Main Activities
Interkeltoi-Samain
The event is structured around four acts taking place in four different locations across the municipality of Garray: the tribute to the heroes beside the archaeological site, the parade through the village streets, the reunion with ancestral spirits in the Forest of the Heroes, and the cultural celebration of the Celtic nations in the Main Square.
Five Celtic nations, united by their shared Iron Age heritage, come together through music, dance, gastronomy, and historical re-enactment. A unique cultural experience that celebrates the traditions, history, and living legacy of the Celtic world.
Historical Re-enactment Days
These activities allow visitors to experience Numancia from within, taking them on a journey through time to immerse themselves in the daily life of the city’s inhabitants and discover, in an engaging way, the historical events that turned Numancia into a legend.
The experience is included in the standard admission ticket, with no additional cost beyond the regular entrance fee to the archaeological site.
